Who is Michael P. Najera? Is he just your everyday dentist?

Michael P. Najera is a local born and raised dental specialist. That's right an El Pasoan with a true passion for his profession and patients. Dr. Najera is a board certified Periodontist working in our Sun City, El Paso.

What sets him apart? He is the ONLY Hispanic Periodontist in West Texas. Dr. Najera always knew that he wanted to be in the health care profession. With that in mind he received an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in Biology, then attended Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Upon graduation, Dr. Najera completed a General Practice Residency with the United States Air Force in Washington DC. He then served 5 more years for his county while stationed in Lubbock Texas. Wanting to fulfill his dream of becoming a dental specialist, Dr. Najera then returned to Baylor where he completed a three year residency in Periodontics and earned a Masters of Science in Oral Biology. Having accomplished his academic goals and raising the bar for himself, he wanted nothing more than to come back to our beautiful Sun City and serve the growing need for periodontal and dental implant services in El Paso where he's been doing an excellent job since 1996.

THE DOCTOR

Dr. Michael P. Najera, DDS, MS, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.  His practice specializes in Periodontics and dental implants.  Dr. Najera is a native El Pasoan and has been in practice in El Paso since 1996.
    •    Graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry, Master of Science in Periodontics.

    •    Graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry, Doctor of Dental Surgery.

    •    Graduate of the University of Texas, Austin, Magna Cum Laude.

    •    U.S. Air Force veteran.

    •    Completed a General Practice Residency at Malcolm Grow Medical Center, Andrews Air Force Base, Washington D.C.

Dr. Najera maintains an active role in the El Paso community.  He is past President of the El Paso District Dental Society and currently serves on its board as Charman of the Legislative Action Committee.
The Periodontal specialization through the American Board of Periodontology requires that all its specialist remain current with periodontal treatment to maintain their certification.  Thus, Dr. Najera is well-versed and trained in all phases of non-surgical and surgical periodontal treatment, including dental implants and oral medicine
